Winthrop Primary School is an accredited Waterwise School as well as an accredited Waste Wise School. These two programs, in association with our Gardening Projects, encourages and educates our students in the concept of recycling waste products to use a fertilizer and mulch to support the growing of fresh vegetables.
Children are hands-on with planting and caring for fruit, vegetables and herbs, harvesting, cooking and eating the delicious healthy food.
Showing children the benefits of SUSTAINABILITY – from growing our own produce to recycling waste. Teaching our children to garden means we are teaching them how to grow, create and care.
