Book Week: Read, Grow, Inspire

BOOK WEEK 2023 is coming!
Book Week starts on Monday 21 August and there are loads of activities planned around the school for all our students to help celebrate books, reading and imagination.
The theme for Book Week around Australia is Read Grow Inspire. Find out more about Book Week here:

BOOK WEEK PARADE – Wednesday, 23 August. Students, it’s time to start planning your fabulous costume for the Book Week parade! Students can dress as a character from a favourite book or dress up to this year’s Book Week theme. Parents are welcome to attend.
LITERACY DRAMA INCURSION – 3 days of fabulous drama workshops for our students creating dramatic scenes from CBCA shortlisted books – Tuesday 15 August – Thursday 17 August
BOOK FAIR – 3 days, Wednesday, 23 – Friday 25 August. Information on times and how to order/buy books will be issued nearer to the date. This year’s book fair is being run by Beaufort Street Books. A proportion of the books sold is given back to the school to purchase books for the library. Parents are welcome to attend the fair before and after school.
STORYTIME & CRAFT – all week at lunchtimes. Stories read around the school and craft in the library celebrating the CBCA shortlisted books for 2023.
ART COMPETITION – entries for our annual art competition are due in the library by Thursday of Week 5, 17 August 2023. Students should visit the library to collect their A3 entry form with all the instructions. This year students choose a favourite book character and create a portrait of the character in their own style. Good luck!
ASSEMBLY – Friday, 25 August. The Book Week Art Competition winners will be announced.
